Aerial Dance & Acrobatic Arts
Aerial Acrobatics Foundations
A supportive mixed-level class that builds strength, confidence, and technique on silks, trapeze, sling, and Lyra. With level-appropriate instruction, you'll develop strong aerial foundations while progressing at your own pace in a fun and welcoming environment.
Class Offerings
Sling
Aerial Sling, also called Hammock, is one piece of fabric with the two tails connected to the ceiling at the same point to create a loop-like apparatus. You will learn skills to stand on the loop, hang from the loop, and wrap yourself in many different postures. As you become more comfortable, you can learn drops, slides, add spins, and dance.
Silks
Silks, also called Fabric or Tissu, is an Aerial apparatus made up of a long piece of fabric attached in the middle at the ceiling to create two long flowing tails. As you increase strength and comfort-level, you will learn sequences, drops, slides, and flips that allow you to descend the fabric with artistry and grace.
Lyra
Lyra, also called Hoop, is a steel ring hung vertically by one or two ropes. As you develop your Lyra practice, you will learn to spin the apparatus as you execute skills, poses, and eventually fluid transitions. Classes include warm up techniques, skill development, and workshopping.
Intro to Aerial Acrobatics
Perfect for beginners, this class teaches the fundamentals of aerial sling, silks, and Lyra while building strength and confidence. Complete at least 3 Intro classes on the same apparatus before moving on to Level 1+ classes or Open Gym.
Acro
Acro is playful partner practice that builds community, strength, and connection. In this class you will practice basing, flying, and spotting another practioner. No partner or pre-requisites are required to participate.
